INSTRUCTIONAL MEDIA

Instructional media part 2

MAQUETTE

Resource: the Author ‘made.

Maquette is a small model or study in three dimensions for either a sculptural or an architectural project. It is used to visualize and test shapes and ideas without incurring the cost and effort of producing a full-scale product. In teaching and learning process the use of maquette as the media is very effective because the students can learn from real object without necessarily out of the classroom.

Mini lesson plan:

Grade : first grade of junior high school
Topic   : vocabularies and making sentence based on the maquette..
Competency Standart:
1.5 menyusun teks lisan dan tulis untuk menyebut nama binatang, benda dan bangunan publik yang dekat dengan kehidupan siswa sehari-hari, dengan unsur kebahasaan yang benar dan sesuai konteks.

How to implement it in the classroom:

In this case, the maquette is a house, which has some rooms, kitchen, mushalla, dining room, living room and other part of the house. So the teacher will teach students all vocabulary about house, then, she will ask them to create the sentences about house with a correct structure of grammar. After making sentences about house, the students will be asked to create a paragraph of descriptive text for their task. The topic is about their personal house, so every students should create a simple text  about their house personally. After creating the text the students will be asked to come forward to present their works. In this case, the teacher can also assess their pronounciation and confidence.

HOW TO KNOW YOUR LIFE PURPOSE IN 5 MINUTES

 BY Adam Leipzig
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVsXO9brK7M

On the last evening of my 25th college reunion, there was a party in a tent with dancing, music and noise. So much noise that a lot of us started to drift out of the tent, so they could hear each other talk and catch up with classmate that they  had not seen in more than 2 decades. As he talked with friends he made an astounding discovery: 80% of his friends were unhappy. Actually they were privileged, highly educated, financially well of , in position of power and they had the first and the second house and also had the first and the second spouse.
Who was happy, the 20%?
We have studied literature, rhetorics and classes for the joy learning, not because we thought they were going to put direct us to a specific job, we were living our lives expansively, with the life”s ups and downs and we did not feel that we had wasted a single minute.
Than he spoke with the 20%, he discover that each of them knew something about their life purpose they knew five things:
1)      Who they were?
2)      What they did?
3)      Who they did for?
4)      What those people wanted or needed and what they got out of it?
5)      How they change as a result?
We have wondered and worried about our life  purpose for a long time, there are books, megazines, workshops and seminars about it. We can learn about our life purpose from books and other.
We can all agree that the unexamined life is not worth living, but if you’re doing is examining, you are not living.
Why these 5 formulation so powerfol?
Because of all those five things that you need to know what your life purpose is only two things are about your self, the three other thingsb are about other people, and that formulation forces you to be outward facing than inward facing.
The most succesful people always focus most on the people that they serve than on how they are served themselves.
If somebody asks you , what do you do? Here is what you do, you just say the last thing , how what you do changes the people you do it for.
For example, you might say´I give kids awesome dreams” if your life purpose is writing books for children so they can fall a sleep at night, so they can have awesome dreams.

NOTE TAKING OF BRITISH SPEAKER ON TED TALK

 THE NEXT AGE OF GOVERNMENT

 BY David Cameron

The simple argument is this, that if we combine the right political philosophy, the right political thinking with the incredible information revolution that has taken place. Starting with the political philosophy: there are two things at heart that he think drive a conservative philosophy that are really relevant to this whole debate.
*     The first is this : we believe that if we give people more power and control over their lives, if you give people more choice, if you put them in the driving seat, then actually you can create a stroger and better society and if you marry this fact with the incredible abundance of information that we have in our world today, I think you can completely remake politics, remake government and remake public services.
*     The second think is we believe in going with the grain of human nature politic and politician will only  succeed with this we can achieve a real increase in well- being, in happiness, in a stroger society without having a lot of money.
There are three passages of history:
The pre- bureaucratic age, the bureaucratic age and the post- bureaucratic age. The simple way is that we have gone from a world of local control then we went to a  world of central control and now we are in a world of people control, local power, central power and people power.
For example: a thausand years ago, need hours and hours, weeks and weeks to traverse our own country in charge of. We weren’t in charge of policing, justice, education, health, welfare, we could just go to  war. This the pre-bureaucratic age.
Next history lesson about British industrial revolution, suddenly, all sorts of transport, travel information were possible.  This  the bureaucratic age.
The next great stage, the massive information revolution, one hundred  years ago, sending these ten words costed $50, now we can send a huge quantities of information without costing anything. This the post-bureaucratic age.
There are three chief ways that it should make an enormous difference change in our life:

1.      Tranparency

In giving us  people power for transparency. So completely, tranparency will make a huge different in this country if we win the election we can share on website so all people can see  what the condition that happen.

2.      Choice

Choice, we do everything online, this not touched yet the public services such as education, health care or policing. With this information we can make our country is searchable health sites, so we can see what records doctors have, the cleanliness hospitals, who does best at infection control and that all information only locked in health department but now is available for us to know it.

3.      Accountability

The third is accountability, it a huge change. For example: this is a crime map from Chicago, so instead of having a situation where only the police have the information about which crimes are committed where, and we have to employ people in government to try and ask the police to account, suddenly, we’ve got this opportunity for people power where we, as citizens can see what crimes are being committed where, when and by whom so we can  hold the police to account.
