THE NEXT AGE OF GOVERNMENT
BY David
Cameron
The simple argument is this, that if we combine the
right political philosophy, the right political thinking with the incredible
information revolution that has taken place. Starting with the political
philosophy: there are two things at heart that he think drive a conservative
philosophy that are really relevant to this whole debate.

There are three passages of history:
The
pre- bureaucratic age, the bureaucratic age and the post- bureaucratic age. The
simple way is that we have gone from a world of local control then we went to
a world of central control and now we
are in a world of people control, local power, central power and people power.
For example: a thausand years ago, need hours and
hours, weeks and weeks to traverse our own country in charge of. We weren’t in
charge of policing, justice, education, health, welfare, we could just go
to war. This the pre-bureaucratic age.
Next history lesson about British industrial
revolution, suddenly, all sorts of transport, travel information were possible.
This
the bureaucratic age.
The next
great stage, the massive information revolution, one hundred years ago, sending these ten words costed $50,
now we can send a huge quantities of information without costing anything. This the post-bureaucratic age.
There are three chief ways that it should make an
enormous difference change in our life:
1. Tranparency
In giving us people power for transparency. So completely, tranparency will make a huge different
in this country if we win the election we can share on website so all people
can see what the condition that happen.
2. Choice
Choice,
we do everything online, this not touched yet the public services such as
education, health care or policing. With this information we can make our
country is searchable health sites, so we can see what records doctors have,
the cleanliness hospitals, who does best at infection control and that all
information only locked in health department but now is available for us to
know it.
3. Accountability
The third is
accountability, it a huge change. For example: this is a crime map from
Chicago, so instead of having a situation where only the police have the
information about which crimes are committed where, and we have to employ people
in government to try and ask the police to account, suddenly, we’ve got this
opportunity for people power where we, as citizens can see what crimes are
being committed where, when and by whom so we can hold the police to account.
